| The 404 Series Horizontal Zoom Stand system uses
a variable or "Zoom" lens system to allow inspectors a wide range of
magnification settings to view internal defects both large and very small. An
inspector can quickly scan larger areas of the internal surfaces or boost the
magnification for smaller very specific areas or questionable areas seen at a
smaller magnification.
The stand system shown
here uses an optional
rotating SIGHT-PIPE Assembly enabling a 360 degree view of the part without
having to rotate the part in the fixture. This option, when coupled with a
dual path illumination assembly produces the best angled views and images of
burrs in crossholes which intersect a main bore. The dual path fiber optic
illumination Assembly provides the means to independently vary the intensity of
light to either the SIGHT-PIPE Assembly and/or the backlight assembly through
the part. By varying the intensity of each of the two light paths and rotating
the SIGHT-PIPE assembly an inspector can make the best inspection possible
quickly and easily.
The 404 also uses an adjustable table
height mechanism and precision linear bearings to provide a smooth
traveling, flexible piece part nest that can host a family of parts.
The vertical black and white images at the
far right are all images of the same piece part bore area with adjustments
made in either the dual illumination paths, Zoom magnification, or
rotation of the SIGHT-PIPE.

360 Degree Rotating SIGHT-PIPE® with reference marks allows an
operator to quickly and easily re-position the SIGHT-PIPE to repeat
previous views. |
